Butterfly Release

Last week, we let our five butterflies (who grew up from very hungry caterpillars) go free. It took awhile for some of them to leave their happy "habitat" where they had grown up. I was sad to see them leave but understood that they wanted to have room to fly around outside. I ask about them sometimes. Some pictures should be coming soon.

Hi, Aidan,

That was fun watching those butterflies emerge from their chrysalis.

Remember how we saw the violent shaking the day before the first ones emerged? We were eating lunch when all of the activity started. And then stopped.

Then the next day, again while we were having lunch, with little fanfare, two butterflies appeared.

I'm sure those butterflies are happy to go out and visit the flowers and increase the butterfly population.

What a fun science project to watch!

Love,

I'm very happy that I was able to give all the caterpillars a happy home to turn into butterflies. I hope they find lots of nice flowers.
