Probably a lot of you have read about the tree guys living near the stadioum at Berkeley. They finally got kicked out last week. here are there final moments before being houled off to jail. Basically, the cops build a scaffold platform below them and chased them all the way up to the top of the tree. You can see the four guys hanging on at the very top of the tree. (The structure at the apex is the "crow's next" that the protesters built in the tree.)
Unfortunately, while the tree guys are gone, a whole lot of crazy guys have decided to live on the median strip in the street in front of the stadium. This is also the street in front of Daddy's work. The City of Berkeley thinks that living in the median strip constitutes freedom of speech, so they aren't kicking these guys off just yet. Here's a median strip guy with a feather trying to offer insights to a TV guy during the standoff.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to live on a median strip unless it was equipped with a Job Johnny and peoplewwere dropping off McDonald's stuff to them. Also, bathing could be a problem, particularly in that warm California sun. Plus all of the exhaust from from passing vehicles.
And no fair taking turns!
Now, I'm not a fan of cutting down trees unless there's a very good reason, so I can sympathize tio a degree. I just hope that they don't distract drivers and cause accidents.

They cut down the trees to build a new athletic facility. The current one was built in 1923 so it's really antiquated. They agreed to plant 10 new trees for each one cut down. Seems like a pretty good deal if you're a tree lover.
